Photo Friday - Nov. 27, 2009

This weeks Photo Friday's theme is "From My Past".
Here is a photo from my past when Ronald Reagan was still in the forefront.
Love the silly goofs off to the side.

"Jane" Thanksgiving Week - PGA West 2009

Here are two of my favorite photos taken this week. She is such a sweet faced little girl. Very camera happy. Weather was perfect! Great pool playing.

"I Heart Faces" - Week: Dec. 1, 2009

Here is my weekly challenge for "I Heart Faces". This week is focused on "tooshies"...bottoms. This photo was taken just before everyone noticed that this tree was barely held up. Almost had bottoms up!

AMA Awards - November 22, 2009

We went to the American Music Awards last night! Highlights: Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Green Day, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, The Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban. Lowlights: J-Lo fell, Lady Gaga is a freak-but great performer, Adam Lambert went too far-sick, Michael Jackson-(who gets awards for songs produced years ago?), Taylor Swift-not there to accept the awards.
All in all--great night!

Dog Beach

The marine layer came in pretty early today. Very low tide and occassional large sets. Sam broke his surfboard. Walked home, got one of his other boards and went back out. He was not happy.

Dog Beach Goers Beware!

I love dogs. Big dogs, little dogs, blue dogs, red dogs.... But their owners?... Not so much. Today is a great day to walk on the beach. It is warm and not a cloud in the sky. Days like today are good school skipping days. We call them "snow days" even though it never snows here. I'll be taking my camera down there later this afternoon. Sam will surf and I'll dawg watch.

Limb in the Sand
- By Patti Prizler 2009

I spotted a man
Along the sandy shore
Heard the waves
Crashing with a roar.

Choosing to run ahead
A dog once close by him
Left a surprise,
The size of his limb.

Good ol’ guy,
One you like to befriend.
Grabbed his bag
To the limb he would tend.

Swiftly walking
As the dog scampered on
Glanced from his height
Wishing it was gone.

And in my shock
Of his great dog’s blunder
I found myself in awe
Of the great way to cover.

His foot took a swipe
Of a large lump of sand -
Couldn’t believe what I saw
‘Cuz guess where it had land!

Right over the limb,
Never skipping a step
This guy kept his bag,
And the poop he just let!

Turning back to the shore,
Calling the dog to his side
He sat next to his girlfriend
No angst did he grind.

I wanted to scream,
Poop has been banned
How dare he leave,
That limb in the sand!

Photo Friday: "Three"

Here is my interpretation of this week's Photo Friday, "Three". Not the best photographs, but hope it brings a smile. Three reasons to hide the box of chocolates... Snap 1, 2, 3...

FARRELL's!

FARRELL'S is BACK!
Went to Farrell's in Mission Viego Mall last night to celebrate Mag&Kate's b-days. Just like I remembered... LOUD, BANGING, CLANGING, Zooish and Troughish.
I know you've heard that Pigs Fly... but did you know Old Surfers never Die... their Surfboards simply Escape! (Beem me up, Scotty)

Nature vs Man - Huntington Beach - Dusk
I love this time of year. The marine layer comes in every evening just as the sun is setting. The seagulls congregate until some surfer strolls into their space and off in the distance the oil rigs blend in with the palm trees.

Maggie's boyfriend, Nick, is on the left. What a trooper he was. We dressed him up in my Scooby Doo outfit and he went walking with us downtown Main Street in Huntington Beach. Nick is 6'2" and with Scooby on him, he was one tall Scoob. Almost EVERY child that saw him, ran up to him and wanted to touch him. Nick was so gracious. He stopped for every kid and even took a photo or two. Here is a small Scooby. Get a load of the glow on this kid! So excited to see another dog! This is me in the car as we're driving down to Main Street. I crack myself up. I love this mask. A few years back, I went as a disco Ape. Had the tight bell bottoms, leather jacket, peace sign and boom box. After Nick, I just scared them away. Hope your Halloween was more than hollow.
